Hardware Requirements

 

Processor:

The minimum requirements to run Flashpoint is with a 2.0GHZ Celeron Processor. (All software is tested in house, on Intel processors.)

 

Display Adapter:

For best performance you should use a high performance display adapter with at least 64MB memory.

 

PC Memory:

The amount of memory needed is at least 512 MB on the workstations and 512 MB on the server although for best performance you should use 1024MB on all stations.

Operating System:
Flashpoint is tested in house using the Windows XP and Windows Vista Operating systems.

Network Card:

For best performance you should use a 100-bit network card or greater.

 

Touch Screen:

Any Touchscreen with Windows drivers will work with Flashpoint. We have found USB Touchscreen's to have the fastest input time while freeing up serial ports.

 

Printers:

Any HP Laserjet 500 and 2200 series office printer have been tested and will work with Flashpoint.

The following Serial Receipt/Remote Printers, have been tested in-house to work with Flashpoint:

Citizen - IDP3541, 3210 (serial)

Axiohm - A714, A715 (serial)
OMNIPrint - OM-200 (serial)

Epson - TM-300, TM-200, TM-T80, TM-T85/88 (serial)

Star - SDP200, SP312, SP342, DP8340 (serial)

Samsung - SRP-500 (ink jet)

 

Switch/Hub:

For optimal performance be sure to use a 100bit, or greater, switch.

 

Multi-Port Serial Cards:

The only Multi-Port cards that currently work with Windows are the Digi Classic Port and the Rocketport cards.

 

Pole Display:

The only Pole Displays currently supported is the Champion DSP-800, Javelin Viper display, Par Microsystems and Epson Pole display.

 

Scale:

The only Scale currently supported is an NCI brand RS-232 scale

 

Card Reader:

Any keyboard wedge card reader, reading track 1 and 2 but must be setup in the following manner:

Track 1 must send a % (decimal equivalence - 37, HEX equivalence 25h) as the prefix character and must terminate with a carriage return.

Track 2 must send a ; (decimal equivalence - 59, HEX equivalence 3Bh) as the prefix character and must terminate with a carriage return.

Many "All in One" type computers have a notebook motherboard in them which do not have enough power for the keyboard wedge, you should check with the manufacturer before purchasing.

 

Bar Code Scanner:

Any keyboard wedge bar code scanner will work but must send a "Black happy face" (decimal equivalence - 002, HEX equivalence 02h) as the prefix character and must end with a carriage return. Many "All in One" type computers have a notebook motherboard in them which do not have enough power for the keyboard wedge, you should check with the manufacturer before purchasing.

 

Credit Card Processor:

Flashpoint currently supports Mercury Payment Systems using Datacaps DSIClient ActiveX control.

 

Kitchen Video System & Projection Monitor Equipment

The Kitchen Video System & Projection Monitor are interfaced to the Oasys Ipad Bump Bar (All In One Unit.)

You Must Have Select Electronics load the TRIM-P.O.S. - Flashpoint interface software into the Ipad when ordering.

Caller Id Interface Equipment

Flashpoint uses the POS Caller Id Box Available In 2,4 and 8 line interfaces.
